New York Dermatologist on CoolSculpting Body Contouring

New York, NY — Developed by Zeltiq Aesthetics, Inc., CoolSculpting® is an emerging line of non-invasive body contouring devices designed to treat problem areas of fat that may be difficult to eliminate through healthy diets and regular exercise. Dr. Paul Friedman offers the innovative treatment at his Houston and New York dermatology practices to help patient’s tone their figure and feel confident about their bodies. Dr. Friedman says, “CoolSculpting® is a precise, non-invasive fat removal method which utilizes controlled cooling to kill fat cells without injury to the skin or other tissues.” He adds that he is excited to offer CoolSculpting® as part of the body contouring options in his practice.

CoolSculpting® is an FDA-approved and patented method of fat removal that utilizes a controlled cooling process that shrinks and eliminates fat cells, designed specifically for patients who are looking for spot-reduction and targeted body contouring in specific areas such as the abdomen, flanks, arms, and thighs. Dr. Friedman says CoolSculpting® can provide patients with an average of 20% fat reduction in treated areas and is particularly advantageous for patients who wish to avoid the risks and side effects of more-invasive surgery. He adds that the non-invasive technique utilizes a unique and painless method called Cryolipolysis to achieve its results without scarring or extended recovery times.

Using two panels to draw up the targeted areas of fat, Dr. Friedman says the CoolSculpting® procedure is performed using a non-invasive applicator to deliver targeted cooling to underlying fat, leaving skin tissue unaffected. He says the procedure requires one hour per area treated and patients will start seeing results in as few as three weeks following their treatment, although full results will continue developing over the next two to four months. Dr. Friedman adds that patients may feel a firm tug or pull on their skin and an intense cold but should experience minimal pain during the procedure and can even spend the time reading a book or relaxing while seated comfortably.

As with any medical procedure, Dr. Friedman urges patients to consult with a board-certified and experienced physician before undergoing treatment. The Houston and New York dermatologist says partnering with a passionate and dedicated practice can help patients achieve personalized results in the reduction of fat and the restoration of self-confidence in their appearance.
